Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Seafood

Cut the fresh white fish into small cubes, about 1-inch pieces. In a separate bowl, chop the shrimp into smaller pieces if they are large. Slice the calamari into rings if not already prepared.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Seafood

In a large glass or ceramic bowl, combine the fish, shrimp, and calamari. Pour the lime juice and lemon juice over the seafood, ensuring everything is well coated. Add the salt and black pepper. Mix gently and cover the bowl with plastic wrap. Refrigerate for 30 minutes to 1 hour to allow the seafood to 'cook' in the acid.

Mixing Ingredients

  1. 3

    Add Vegetables

After marinating, remove the bowl from the refrigerator. Add the thinly sliced red onion, diced tomato, chopped cilantro, and finely chopped jalapeño pepper to the seafood. Stir gently to combine all the ingredients. Adjust seasoning with additional salt and pepper to taste.

Serving

  1. 4

    Plate the Ceviche

To serve, spoon the ceviche into individual serving bowls. Top each bowl with slices of avocado and serve with tortilla chips on the side. Enjoy immediately for the freshest taste.
