Ahi Tuna

Method

Preparing the Ahi Tuna

  1. 1

    Slice the Ahi Tuna

Using a sharp knife, cut the sushi-grade Ahi Tuna into thin, even slices (about 1/2 inch thick).

  2. 2

    Season the Tuna

Sprinkle sea salt and black pepper evenly over the sliced tuna, ensuring each piece is well-seasoned.

  3. 3

    Heat Sesame Oil

In a skillet, heat the sesame oil over medium-high heat until it shimmers.

  4. 4

    Sear the Tuna

Quickly sear the tuna slices in the hot skillet for about 30 seconds on each side, maintaining a rare center. Remove from skillet and let rest.

Making the Wasabi Aioli

  1. 5

    Combine Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine mayonnaise, wasabi paste, lemon juice, minced garlic, and salt. Mix well until smooth.

  2. 6

    Taste and Adjust

Taste the wasabi aioli and adjust seasoning with more salt or wasabi paste if desired.

Serving

  1. 7

    Plate the Tuna

Arrange the sliced, seared Ahi Tuna on a serving platter.

  2. 8

    Add Wasabi Aioli

Drizzle or serve the wasabi aioli alongside the Ahi Tuna for dipping.

  3. 9

    Garnish (Optional)

Garnish with thinly sliced green onions or sesame seeds for an added touch.
