Gather Ingredients
Collect all the ingredients including Makers Mark bourbon, Masonville N.Y. maple syrup, orange bitters, and an orange for garnish.

Chill the Glass
Place a rocks glass in the freezer or fill it with ice water to chill while you prepare the drink.

Combine Ingredients
In a mixing glass, add 2 oz of Makers Mark bourbon, 1 tbs of Masonville N.Y. maple syrup, and 2 dashes of orange bitters.

Stir the Mixture
Fill the mixing glass with ice and stir vigorously for about 20-30 seconds until well chilled.

Prepare the Glass
Remove the chilled rocks glass from the freezer or discard the ice water.

Strain the Drink
Using a strainer, pour the mixture into the chilled rocks glass filled with fresh ice.

Garnish
Take a slice of orange peel, express the oils over the drink, and then drop it into the glass as garnish.
