Main Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Cod

Rinse the cod fillets under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and pepper.

  2. 2

    Dredge in Flour

Place the all-purpose flour in a shallow dish. Dredge each cod fillet in the flour, ensuring they are evenly coated. Shake off any excess flour.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Heat the Oil

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat until hot but not smoking.

  2. 4

    Cook the Cod

Add the dredged cod fillets to the skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the fillets from the skillet and set aside on a plate.

  3. 5

    Prepare the Sauce

In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Be careful not to burn it.

  4. 6

    Deglaze with Wine

Pour in the dry white wine, scraping the bottom of the skillet to release any browned bits. Bring to a simmer and let it cook for about 2-3 minutes.

  5. 7

    Add Capers and Lemon Juice

Stir in the capers and lemon juice, cooking for another minute.

  6. 8

    Finish the Sauce

Add the butter to the sauce, stirring until melted and well combined. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.

  7. 9

    Serve

Return the cooked cod fillets to the skillet, spooning the sauce over them. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
