Method

For the Blackened Salmon Burger Patties

  1. 1

    Prepare the Salmon

In a food processor, pulse the salmon fillets until they are finely chopped but not pureed. Transfer to a mixing bowl.

  2. 2

    Mix the Seasoning

In a small bowl, combine paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt.

  3. 3

    Combine Ingredients

Add the seasoning mixture and olive oil to the chopped salmon. Mix until well combined.

  4. 4

    Form Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a patty.

  5. 5

    Cook the Patties

Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side until blackened and cooked through.

For the Burger Assembly

  1. 6

    Toast the Brioche Buns

Lightly toast the brioche buns in the skillet for about 1-2 minutes or until golden brown.

  2. 7

    Prepare the Toppings

Slice the tomato and onion, and mash the avocado in a small bowl. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  3. 8

    Assemble the Burger

Spread chipotle mayo on both sides of the toasted brioche buns. Layer with lettuce, the blackened salmon patty, tomato slice, onion slice, and mashed avocado.

  4. 9

    Serve

Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately with your choice of sides.
