Method

Steak Preparation

  1. 1

    Marinade the Steak

In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, chopped rosemary, and lemon juice to create a marinade.

  2. 2

    Coat the Steak

Place the bistro steak in a large resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the steak, ensuring it is well coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (or up to 2 hours for more flavor).

  3. 3

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill or grill pan to high heat.

  4. 4

    Grill the Steak

Remove the steak from the marinade and let any excess marinade drip off. Place the steak on the hot grill. Grill for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until it reaches your desired doneness.

  5. 5

    Rest the Steak

Once grilled, remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for about 5 minutes before slicing.

Optional Side Preparation

  1. 6

    Prepare the Asparagus

While the steak is grilling, rinse the asparagus and trim the tough ends.

  2. 7

    Sauté the Asparagus

In a skillet over medium heat, add a tablespoon of olive oil. Once hot, add the minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant. Add the asparagus and sauté for 5-7 minutes until tender-crisp.

  3. 8

    Add Parmesan (optional)

If using, sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the asparagus and sauté for another minute until melted.
