For the Chicken Fried Steak

Method

Preparation Steps

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Begin by seasoning the grass-fed steak with salt, pepper, and garlic powder on both sides.

  2. 2

    Set Up Breading Station

In one bowl, add the flour. In a second bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk. Dredge each seasoned steak first in the flour, then dip into the egg mixture, and finally coat again in the flour.

  3. 3

    Fry the Steak

Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, carefully add the breaded steak pieces and fry for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.

  4. 4

    Make the Jalapeno Cream Gravy

In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and melt butter. Whisk in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes. Gradually whisk in the milk, stirring constantly until it thickens. Add diced jalapeno, salt, and pepper to taste.

  5. 5

    Serve

Serve the fried steak hot, topped with jalapeno cream gravy.
