Method

Cobbler Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Fruit

In a large mixing bowl, combine the fresh mixed berries and 1/4 cup of sugar. Toss gently to coat the berries, and let them sit for about 15 minutes to release their juices.

  2. 2

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  3. 3

    Make the Batter

In another bowl, whisk together the flour, remaining sugar, baking powder, and salt. In a separate bowl, combine the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.

  4. 4

    Assemble the Cobbler

Pour the berry mixture into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish. Spoon the batter over the fruit, spreading it evenly.

  5. 5

    Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the batter is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the batter comes out clean.

  6. 6

    Serve

Let the cobbler cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy warm with ice cream or whipped cream if desired.
