Method

Meatballs Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, egg, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

  2. 2

    Form Meatballs

Using your hands, shape the mixture into meatballs, approximately 1 inch in diameter.

  3. 3

    Cook Meatballs

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally until browned and cooked through.

Sandwich Assembly

  1. 4

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).

  2. 5

    Add Marinara Sauce

Once the meatballs are cooked, pour marinara sauce over them in the skillet. Simmer for an additional 5 minutes until heated through.

  3. 6

    Prepare Rolls

Slice the sub rolls in half and place them on a baking sheet. Drizzle with olive oil and toast in the preheated oven for about 5 minutes.

  4. 7

    Assemble Sandwiches

Remove the rolls from the oven, then place 3-4 meatballs in each roll with a generous amount of marinara sauce. Top with shredded mozzarella cheese and sprinkle with red pepper flakes.

  5. 8

    Melt Cheese

Return the assembled sandwiches to the oven and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  6. 9

    Serve

Remove from the oven, let cool slightly, then serve hot.
