Steak and Marinara

Assembly

Method

Steak and Marinara Preparation

  1. 1

    Sauté the Onions

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onion and sauté until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.

  2. 2

    Cook the Garlic

Add the minced garlic to the skillet and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

  3. 3

    Make the Marinara

Stir in the canned crushed tomatoes and dried oregano. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Let the sauce simmer for about 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.

  4. 4

    Cook the Steak

In a separate pan, quickly sear the thinly sliced ribeye steak over high heat for 2-3 minutes until browned but still tender. Add the cooked steak to the marinara sauce and stir to combine.

Assembly

  1. 5

    Prepare the Hoagie Rolls

Slice the hoagie rolls lengthwise, being careful not to cut all the way through.

  2. 6

    Fill the Rolls

Spoon the steak and marinara mixture into each hoagie roll, ensuring an even distribution.

  3. 7

    Top with Cheese

Place a slice of provolone cheese on top of the steak filling in each roll.

  4. 8

    Melt the Cheese

Optionally, place the filled hoagie rolls under a broiler for 1-2 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  5. 9

    Serve

Remove from the oven, let cool slightly, and serve hot.
