Chicken Tenders
Fries or Tots
Method
Chicken Tenders
- 1
Prepare Chicken
Cut the chicken breast into strips, approximately 1 inch wide.
- 2
- 3
Bread Chicken
Dredge each chicken strip in flour, shaking off the excess, then dip into the beaten eggs, and finally coat with the breadcrumb mixture. Ensure each piece is well-coated.
- 4
Heat Oil
In a large skillet, heat the oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). You can test the oil by dropping a small piece of bread in; if it sizzles, the oil is ready.
- 5
Fry Chicken
Carefully add the breaded chicken strips to the hot oil in batches, cooking for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Use a meat thermometer to ensure the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
- 6
Drain
Once cooked, transfer the chicken tenders to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
Fries or Tots
- 7
Prepare Fries/Tots
If using frozen French fries or tater tots, preheat the oven according to package instructions. If frying, heat oil in a separate pot.
- 8
Cook Fries/Tots
For oven method, spread fries or tots on a baking sheet and sprinkle with salt. Bake until golden and crispy, following package instructions (usually 20-25 minutes). For frying, carefully add fries or tots to the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 3-5 minutes.
- 9
Drain and Serve
Once cooked, remove fries or tots from the oven or oil, drain on paper towels, and season with additional salt if desired.
