Crispy Green Plantains Ingredients
Method
Crispy Green Plantains Directions
- 1
Prepare the Plantains
Peel the green plantains by cutting off the ends and making a slit along the length of each plantain. Use your fingers to remove the peel. Cut the plantains into 1-inch thick slices.
- 2
Heat the Oil
In a deep skillet or frying pan, pour in the vegetable oil and heat it over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 3
Fry the Plantains
Once the oil is hot, carefully add the sliced plantains in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry them for about 3-4 minutes on each side until they are golden brown.
- 4
Drain and Season
Using a slotted spoon, remove the fried plantains and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil. While still hot, sprinkle with salt, garlic powder, and paprika to taste.
- 5
Serve
Serve the crispy green plantains warm as a snack or side dish. Enjoy!
