Method

Preparation and Cooking

1

Prepare the Potatoes

Wash and peel the Russet potatoes. Cut them into thin strips, about 1/4 inch thick.

2

Soak the Potatoes

Place the cut potatoes into a bowl of cold water and let them soak for at least 30 minutes. This helps remove excess starch.

3

Dry the Potatoes

Drain the water and pat the potatoes dry with paper towels to remove as much moisture as possible.

4

Heat the Oil

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

5

Fry the Potatoes

Carefully add a batch of the dried potato strips into the hot oil, frying them for about 4-6 minutes or until golden brown. Do not overcrowd the pot.

6

Drain and Season

Remove the fries from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. While hot, sprinkle with salt, paprika, garlic powder, and black pepper.

7

Serve

Serve the French fries hot as a side dish or snack. Enjoy!
