Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Method

Steak Preparation

  1. 1

    Season the Ribeye

Sprinkle salt and black pepper evenly over both sides of the ribeye steak. Allow it to sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes to enhance the flavor.

  2. 2

    Heat the Pan

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.

  3. 3

    Cook the Steak

Once the pan is hot, add the ribeye steak. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or adjust the time to your preferred doneness. During the last minute, add the crushed garlic cloves to the pan for extra flavor.

  4. 4

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steak from the pan and let it rest on a plate for 5-10 minutes before slicing.

Garlic Mashed Potatoes Preparation

  1. 5

    Boil the Potatoes

Peel and dice the potatoes into even chunks. Place them in a pot of salted water and bring to a boil. Cook for about 15-20 minutes until tender.

  2. 6

    Drain and Mash

Once the potatoes are tender, drain them and return them to the pot. Add butter, milk, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mash the potatoes until smooth and creamy.

  3. 7

    Adjust Seasoning

Taste the mashed potatoes and adjust seasoning with additional salt and pepper if necessary.
