Method

Prepare the Patty

1

Mix the Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix until well blended but do not overwork the meat.

2

Form the Patties

Divide the beef mixture into two equal portions and shape them into patties, about 3/4 inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.

Cook the Fries

3

Preheat the Oven or Fryer

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) or heat oil in a deep fryer according to manufacturer's instructions.

4

Cook the Fries

If using the oven, spread the frozen fries on a baking sheet and drizzle with vegetable oil and sprinkle with salt. Bake for about 20-25 minutes until crispy. If using a fryer, fry the fries until golden brown, about 4-5 minutes, and drain on paper towels.

Cook the Patty

5

Heat the Grill or Pan

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Lightly grease the grill or pan with oil.

6

Cook the Patties

Place the patties on the grill or pan and cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip the patties, add a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each patty, and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the patties are cooked to your desired doneness.

Assemble the Burger

7

Prepare the Buns

While the patties are cooking, slice the burger buns in half and toast them lightly on the grill or in a toaster if desired.

8

Layer the Ingredients

On the bottom half of each toasted bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by the cooked patty with melted cheese, a slice of tomato (sliced into rounds), and then top with the other half of the bun.
