Method
Prepare the Patty
Mix the Ingredients
In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix until well blended but do not overwork the meat.
Form the Patties
Divide the beef mixture into two equal portions and shape them into patties, about 3/4 inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.
Cook the Fries
Preheat the Oven or Fryer
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) or heat oil in a deep fryer according to manufacturer's instructions.
Cook the Fries
If using the oven, spread the frozen fries on a baking sheet and drizzle with vegetable oil and sprinkle with salt. Bake for about 20-25 minutes until crispy. If using a fryer, fry the fries until golden brown, about 4-5 minutes, and drain on paper towels.
Cook the Patty
Assemble the Burger
Prepare the Buns
While the patties are cooking, slice the burger buns in half and toast them lightly on the grill or in a toaster if desired.
Layer the Ingredients
On the bottom half of each toasted bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by the cooked patty with melted cheese, a slice of tomato (sliced into rounds), and then top with the other half of the bun.
