Clam Preparation

Method

Clam Preparation

  1. 1

    Clean the Clams

Rinse the clams under cold water to remove any sand or dirt. Scrub the shells with a brush if necessary.

  2. 2

    Steam the Clams

In a large pot, bring the white wine to a boil. Add the clams and cover. Steam for about 5-7 minutes, until the clams open. Discard any clams that do not open.

  3. 3

    Remove the Clams from Shells

Carefully remove the clams from their shells, reserving half of the shells for baking. Chop the clam meat finely and set aside.

Stuffing Preparation

  1. 4

    Prepare the Stuffing Mixture

In a large bowl, combine the chopped clam meat, bread crumbs, minced garlic, chopped parsley, olive oil, paprika, salt, black pepper, grated Parmesan cheese, and lemon juice. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.

Baking

  1. 5

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. 6

    Stuff the Clams

Spoon the stuffing mixture into the reserved clam shells, filling them generously.

  3. 7

    Bake the Clams

Arrange the stuffed clams on a baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown.

  4. 8

    Serve

Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy your Almejas al Casino warm!
