Meatballs and Sandwich Assembly
Method
Preparation and Assembly
- 1
Prepare the Meatballs
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, bread crumbs, parmesan cheese, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
- 2
Shape the Meatballs
Form the mixture into meatballs, about 1.5 inches in diameter. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- 3
Bake the Meatballs
Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until cooked through and browned.
- 4
Heat the Marinara Sauce
While the meatballs are baking, heat the marinara sauce in a saucepan over medium heat.
- 5
Combine Meatballs and Sauce
Once the meatballs are done, add them to the marinara sauce and let them simmer for about 5 minutes.
- 6
Assemble the Sandwiches
Slice the French rolls in half and place a generous amount of the meatball and sauce mixture inside each roll.
- 7
Add Cheese and Garnish
Top each sandwich with cheddar or mozzarella cheese and sprinkle with fresh basil or parsley.
- 8
Melt the Cheese
If desired, place the assembled sandwiches under a broiler for 2-3 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- 9
Serve
Serve the meatball sandwiches warm with a side salad or soup.
