Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Patties

In a mixing bowl, gently combine the ground beef with salt and black pepper. Form into 4 equal-sized patties, about ¾ inch thick.

  2. 2

    Cook the Patties

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes for medium doneness.

  3. 3

    Add Cheese

During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of American cheese on each patty and cover to melt.

  4. 4

    Toast the Buns

While the cheese is melting, lightly toast the burger buns on the grill or in a separate pan until golden brown.

  5. 5

    Assemble the Burgers

On the bottom half of each bun, layer lettuce, a cheeseburger patty, tomato slice, onion slice, and pickles. Add ketchup and mustard to taste, then top with the other half of the bun.

  6. 6

    Serve

Serve immediately with your favorite sides, such as fries or salad.
