Main Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Shrimp

Rinse the wild caught Pacific shrimp under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. If using frozen shrimp, ensure they are completely thawed.

  2. 2

    Slice the Garlic

Thinly slice the garlic cloves using a sharp knife or a mandoline for razor-thin slices.

  3. 3

    Zest and Juice the Lemon

Use a microplane to zest the lemon, then cut it in half and juice it. Set aside the zest and juice for later use.

  4. 4

    Chop the Parsley

Finely chop the fresh parsley and set it aside for garnish.

Cooking

  1. 5

    Heat the Olive Oil

In a large skillet, heat the extra virgin olive oil over medium heat until it shimmers.

  2. 6

    Sauté the Garlic

Add the sliced garlic to the hot oil and sauté for about 1-2 minutes, or until it becomes fragrant and golden. Be careful not to burn it.

  3. 7

    Cook the Shrimp

Add the prepared shrimp to the skillet, season with salt and black pepper, and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until the shrimp turn pink and opaque.

  4. 8

    Add Lemon Juice and Zest

Once the shrimp are cooked, add the lemon juice and zest to the skillet and stir to combine. Cook for an additional minute.

  5. 9

    Garnish and Serve

Remove the skillet from heat, sprinkle the chopped parsley over the shrimp, and serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side.
