Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Seafood

In a large bowl, combine the cleaned shrimp, calamari, clams, and mussels. Rinse them under cold water and set aside.

  2. 2

    Cook the Pasta

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the capellini and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving a little pasta water.

Sauce Preparation

  1. 3

    Sauté Aromatics

In a large skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil. Once hot, add the minced garlic and chopped shallots. Sauté for about 2-3 minutes until fragrant and translucent.

  2. 4

    Add Tomatoes and Wine

Stir in the crushed tomatoes and white wine. Bring to a simmer, then add the red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper to taste. Let it cook for about 5 minutes to blend the flavors.

Combine Seafood and Sauce

  1. 5

    Cook the Seafood

Add the shrimp, calamari, clams, and mussels to the tomato sauce. Cover the skillet and cook for about 5-7 minutes or until the clams and mussels open and the shrimp are cooked through.

  2. 6

    Finishing Touches

Once the seafood is cooked, stir in the chopped parsley. If the sauce is too thick, add a splash of reserved pasta water to reach desired consistency.

Serving

  1. 7

    Plate the Dish

Divide the cooked capellini among serving plates. Top with the seafood and tomato sauce mixture. Garnish with additional parsley if desired.
