Chicken Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Chicken
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Season both sides of the chicken breasts with salt and black pepper.
- 2
Dredge the Chicken
Set up a dredging station: place flour in one shallow dish, beat the eggs in another dish, and combine breadcrumbs and Parmesan cheese in a third dish. Coat each chicken breast in flour, shaking off the excess, then dip into the beaten eggs, and finally coat with the breadcrumb mixture.
- 3
Cook the Chicken
In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add the breaded chicken breasts and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown. Transfer the chicken to a baking dish.
Topping Preparation
- 4
Add Marinara Sauce
Pour marinara sauce evenly over each piece of chicken in the baking dish.
- 5
Add Mozzarella Cheese
Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese evenly over the marinara sauce on the chicken.
- 6
Bake
Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- 7
Garnish and Serve
Remove from the oven, garnish with fresh basil leaves, and serve hot.
