Method

Preparing the Seafood

  1. 1

    Cook the Shrimp

In a pot of boiling salted water, add the shrimp and cook for about 2-3 minutes until they turn pink and opaque. Remove from heat and drain.

  2. 2

    Cook the Squid

In the same boiling water, add the squid rings and cook for about 1-2 minutes until they are tender. Drain and set aside.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Octopus

If using pre-cooked octopus, simply dice it into bite-sized pieces. If cooking from raw, boil until tender, about 30-45 minutes depending on size.

Mixing the Salad

  1. 4

    Combine the Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the cooked shrimp, squid, and diced octopus. Add the diced red bell pepper, cucumber, red onion, tomatoes, and avocado.

  2. 5

    Prepare the Dressing

In a small bowl, whisk together the lime juice, olive oil, salt, and black pepper until well combined.

  3. 6

    Dress the Salad

Pour the dressing over the seafood and vegetable mixture. Toss gently to combine.

  4. 7

    Add Herbs

Finally, sprinkle the chopped cilantro over the top and toss gently to incorporate.

Serving

  1. 8

    Chill and Serve

Cover the salad and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to let the flavors meld. Serve chilled as a refreshing appetizer or light meal.
