Method
Pork Chops
- 1
Prepare the Pork Chops
In a bowl, mix garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Rub this mixture evenly over both sides of the pork chops.
- 2
Fry the Pork Chops
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the seasoned pork chops and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from heat and let rest for a few minutes before serving.
Rice
- 3
Cook the Rice
In a medium saucepan, combine the white rice, water, and salt. Bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 18-20 minutes, or until the rice is tender and the water is absorbed. Remove from heat and let sit covered for an additional 5 minutes before fluffing with a fork.
Beans
- 4
Prepare the Beans
In a medium saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic, sautéing until they are translucent and fragrant, about 3-4 minutes. Stir in the canned black beans and cumin, and cook until heated through. Season with salt to taste and simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
