Method

Preparation of Bistec

  1. 1

    Marinate the Beef

Cut the beef steak into thin strips and place them in a bowl. Add soy sauce, lime juice, salt, and black pepper. Mix well and let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.

  2. 2

    Sauté the Vegetables

While the beef is marinating, slice the bell peppers and onion into thin strips. Mince the garlic. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the onions and garlic, sautéing until translucent.

  3. 3

    Cook the Beef

Add the marinated beef to the skillet with the sautéed vegetables. Cook for about 5-7 minutes or until the beef is cooked through and slightly browned.

Cooking Rice

  1. 4

    Prepare the Rice

In a medium saucepan, combine the rice, water, and salt. Bring to a boil over high heat.

  2. 5

    Cook the Rice

Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover the saucepan, and simmer for about 15-20 minutes or until the rice is tender and the water is absorbed. Remove from heat and let it sit covered for an additional 5 minutes.

Preparing the Beans

  1. 6

    Heat the Beans

Open the can of black beans and pour them into a small saucepan. Add cumin, garlic powder, and salt to taste. Heat over medium heat until warmed through, about 5 minutes.
