Baking Instructions

1

Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease a 9-inch round cake pan and line the bottom with parchment paper.

2

Melt Chocolate and Butter

In a heatproof bowl, combine dark chocolate and unsalted butter. Melt over a pot of simmering water (double boiler method) or in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.

3

Mix in Sugar, Eggs, and Vanilla

Remove the bowl from heat and whisk in the granulated sugar. Allow the mixture to cool slightly before adding the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

4

Add Cocoa and Salt

Sift in the cocoa powder and add a pinch of salt. Fold the dry ingredients into the chocolate mixture until just combined.

5

Bake the Cake

Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the cake has set and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.

6

Cool and Serve

Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. Dust with powdered sugar or serve with whipped cream, if desired.
