Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Sauté the Vegetables

In a large pot over medium heat, add olive oil. Once hot, add chopped onion, celery, and bell pepper. Sauté until softened, about 5-7 minutes.

  2. 2

    Brown the Meats

Add the Italian sausage and ground chuck to the pot. Cook until browned, breaking it up with a spatula, about 8-10 minutes.

  3. 3

    Add Garlic and Seasonings

Stir in minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Cook for another 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

  4. 4

    Deglaze with Wine

Pour in the red wine and scrape any browned bits from the bottom of the pot. Bring to a simmer and cook for 5 minutes.

  5. 5

    Add Tomatoes and Simmer

Stir in the crushed tomatoes. Reduce heat to low and let the sauce simmer for at least 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  6. 6

    Serve

Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary. Serve over cooked spaghetti or your favorite pasta.
