Directions
- 1
Prepare the Coffee
Brew the espresso coffee and let it cool to room temperature. If desired, mix in the coffee liqueur.
- 2
Prepare the Mascarpone Mixture
In a mixing bowl, combine the mascarpone cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and creamy.
- 3
Whip the Cream
In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until well combined.
- 4
Dip the Ladyfingers
Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the cooled espresso for about 1-2 seconds, making sure not to soak them. Arrange a layer of dipped ladyfingers in the bottom of your serving dish.
- 5
Layer the Mixture
Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the layer of ladyfingers evenly.
- 6
Repeat Layers
Add another layer of dipped ladyfingers and then top with the remaining mascarpone mixture, smoothing the top.
- 7
Chill
Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4-6 hours, or overnight for best results.
- 8
Serve
Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder. Cut into squares and enjoy!
