Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Baguette

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Slice the baguette into 1/2 inch thick slices and place them on a baking sheet.

  2. 2

    Brush with Olive Oil

Drizzle the olive oil over the sliced baguette and use a brush to ensure even coverage on both sides.

  3. 3

    Toast the Bread

Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and toast the bread for about 5-7 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy. Remove from oven and set aside.

Prepare the Topping

  1. 4

    Chop the Tomatoes

Dice the tomatoes into small cubes and place them in a mixing bowl.

  2. 5

    Add Basil and Garlic

Finely chop the fresh basil leaves and mince the garlic clove. Add both to the bowl with the tomatoes.

  3. 6

    Season the Mixture

Sprinkle the salt and black pepper over the tomato mixture, and gently toss everything together to combine.

Assembly

  1. 7

    Top the Toasts

Spoon the tomato topping generously onto each slice of toasted baguette.

  2. 8

    Serve Immediately

Serve the bruschetta immediately while the bread is still warm for the best flavor and texture.
