For the Tacos

Method

Preparing the Blackened Mahi

  1. 1

    Mix the Seasoning

In a small bowl, combine paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until fully combined.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Mahi

Pat the mahi mahi fillets dry with a paper towel. Brush both sides lightly with olive oil.

  3. 3

    Apply the Seasoning

Generously coat both sides of each mahi mahi fillet with the spice mixture, pressing it into the fish to ensure it sticks.

  4. 4

    Cook the Mahi

Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the seasoned mahi mahi fillets. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until the fish is cooked through and has a blackened crust. Remove from heat.

Assembling the Tacos

  1. 5

    Warm the Tortillas

In a separate skillet or directly over an open flame, warm the corn tortillas for about 30 seconds on each side until they are pliable.

  2. 6

    Prepare the Avocado

Slice the avocados in half, remove the pit, and scoop out the flesh. Slice into thin pieces.

  3. 7

    Assemble the Tacos

On each tortilla, layer shredded cabbage, a piece of blackened mahi mahi, avocado slices, and a sprinkle of fresh cilantro.

  4. 8

    Add Toppings

Top with a dollop of sour cream and a squeeze of fresh lime juice to taste.
