Method

Preparing the Beef

  1. 1

    Season the Beef

Take the beef steak and pat it dry with paper towels. Season both sides generously with salt and black pepper.

  2. 2

    Optional Marinade

If using the optional marinade, mince the garlic cloves and mix them in a bowl with soy sauce, honey, and lemon juice. Place the seasoned beef in the marinade and let it sit for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours in the refrigerator.

Cooking the Beef

  1. 3

    Preheat the Pan

Heat a large skillet or frying pan over medium-high heat. Add the olive oil and let it heat until shimmering.

  2. 4

    Sear the Beef

Once the oil is hot, carefully place the beef steak in the pan. Sear for about 4-5 minutes on one side without moving it.

  3. 5

    Flip the Beef

Using tongs, flip the beef steak and cook for another 4-5 minutes for medium-rare, or longer depending on your desired doneness.

  4. 6

    Rest the Beef

Remove the beef from the pan and place it on a cutting board. Let it rest for at least 5 minutes before slicing.

  5. 7

    Garnish

Chop the fresh parsley and sprinkle it over the sliced beef before serving for a fresh touch.
