Method

Dip Base Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Creamy Base

In a large mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, sour cream, and mayonnaise. Using a hand mixer or a fork, blend until smooth and creamy.

  2. 2

    Add Seafood and Seasoning

Fold in the chopped shrimp, crawfish tails, Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, lemon juice, and chopped green onions. Mix until all ingredients are well incorporated.

  3. 3

    Chill the Dip

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to allow the flavors to meld.

Hushpuppy Parmesan Crumble Preparation

  1. 4

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a medium bowl, whisk together the cornmeal, all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar until well combined.

  2. 5

    Combine Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, beat the egg, then add milk. Mix well.

  3. 6

    Combine Mixtures

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir until just combined, then gently fold in the grated Parmesan cheese.

  4. 7

    Fry the Hushpuppies

Heat oil in a deep skillet over medium heat. Once hot, drop spoonfuls of the mixture into the oil and fry until golden brown on both sides, about 3-4 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Serving Preparation

  1. 8

    Serve the Dip

Transfer the chilled seafood dip to a serving bowl. Crumble the fried hushpuppies over the top for garnish.

  2. 9

    Prepare Tortilla Chips

Serve tortilla chips on the side, sprinkled with seasoned salt to taste.
