Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Method

Steak

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Take the ribeye steaks out of the refrigerator and let them sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes. This helps in even cooking.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Rub both sides of each steak with olive oil, and then season generously with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Sprinkle fresh rosemary on both sides.

  3. 3

    Cook the Steak

Preheat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Once hot, place the steaks on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until the desired doneness is achieved.

  4. 4

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steaks from the heat and let them rest for at least 5 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute throughout the meat.

Garlic Mashed Potatoes

  1. 5

    Prepare the Potatoes

Peel the russet potatoes and cut them into quarters. Place them in a large pot and cover with cold water.

  2. 6

    Cook the Potatoes

Bring the pot of water to a boil and add 1 tsp of salt. Cook the potatoes for about 15-20 minutes or until fork-tender.

  3. 7

    Prepare the Garlic

While the potatoes are cooking, peel and mince the garlic cloves.

  4. 8

    Mash the Potatoes

Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Add the butter, minced garlic, and milk. Mash until smooth and creamy. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
