Crab Cakes

Method

Crab Cakes Preparation

  1. 1

    Combine Crab Cake Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the fresh lump crab meat, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, Old Bay seasoning, chopped green onions, beaten egg, bread crumbs, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently to avoid breaking up the crab meat.

  2. 2

    Form the Crab Cakes

Using your hands, form the mixture into patties, about 2 to 3 inches in diameter. Place the formed cakes on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  3. 3

    Chill the Crab Cakes

Cover the baking sheet with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to help the cakes hold together during cooking.

  4. 4

    Cook the Crab Cakes

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Once hot, carefully add the crab cakes to the skillet. Cook for 4-5 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy.

Spicy Remoulade Preparation

  1. 5

    Combine Remoulade Ingredients

In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, hot sauce, lemon juice, chopped capers, paprika, salt, and black pepper until well combined.

  2. 6

    Chill the Remoulade

Cover the remoulade and refrigerate for at least 15 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
