Method
Prepare the Baguette
- 1
Slice the Baguette
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Slice the baguette into 1/2 inch thick slices.
- 2
Toast the Bread
Arrange the baguette slices on a baking sheet and toast in the preheated oven for about 5-7 minutes or until they are golden brown.
Prepare the Topping
- 3
Mix the Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine the diced tomatoes, chopped fresh basil leaves, minced garlic, olive oil, salt, and black pepper. Stir gently to combine all ingredients.
Prepare the Balsamic Glaze
- 4
Make the Glaze
In a small saucepan, bring the balsamic vinegar to a boil over medium heat. Reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 10-15 minutes, or until it reduces and thickens to a syrup-like consistency. Remove from heat and let cool.
Assemble the Bruschetta
- 5
Top the Toasted Bread
Once the baguette slices are toasted, remove them from the oven. Spoon the tomato and basil mixture generously onto each slice.
- 6
Drizzle with Balsamic Glaze
Finally, drizzle the balsamic glaze over the topped bruschetta for an added burst of flavor.
