Method

Prepare Burger Patties

  1. 1

    Mix Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until just combined.

  2. 2

    Form Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a patty that is about 3/4 inch thick.

Cook Burgers

  1. 3

    Preheat Grill or Skillet

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat.

  2. 4

    Cook Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes. If using cheese, add a slice on top of each patty during the last minute of cooking to melt.

  3. 5

    Toast Buns

While the patties are cooking, lightly toast the burger buns on the grill or in a separate skillet until golden brown.

Prepare Toppings

  1. 6

    Slice Tomato

While the burgers are cooking, slice the tomato into medium-thick slices.

  2. 7

    Wash Lettuce

Wash and dry the lettuce leaves.

Prepare Fries

  1. 8

    Cut Potatoes

Peel and cut the potatoes into thin strips for fries.

  2. 9

    Heat Oil

In a deep pan, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  3. 10

    Fry Potatoes

Carefully add the potato strips to the hot oil in batches, frying until golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove fries with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Season with salt to taste.

Assemble Burgers

  1. 11

    Layer Ingredients

On the bottom half of the toasted bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by the cooked burger patty, a slice of tomato, and then the top half of the bun.
