Method

Shrimp Preparation

1

Prepare the Shrimp

In a large bowl, toss the peeled and deveined shrimp with cornstarch until well coated.

2

Prepare the Egg Wash

In a separate bowl, whisk the egg until it is well beaten.

3

Coat the Shrimp

Dip each cornstarch-coated shrimp into the egg wash, ensuring they are fully coated.

Cooking the Shrimp

4

Heat the Oil

In a large skillet or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

5

Fry the Shrimp

Carefully add the coated shrimp in batches to the hot oil. Fry for about 2-3 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy. Remove them with a slotted spoon and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

Firecracker Sauce Preparation

6

Make the Sauce

In a small saucepan, combine the Sriracha sauce, honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. Heat over medium heat until the mixture begins to simmer, stirring occasionally.

7

Toss the Shrimp

Once the sauce is heated and well combined, add the crispy shrimp to the saucepan. Toss well to coat the shrimp evenly with the firecracker sauce.

Serving

8

Garnish and Serve

Transfer the sauced shrimp to a serving plate. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds. Serve immediately while hot.
