Cocktail

Method

Cocktail

  1. 1

    Prepare glass

If desired, chill a coupe or Nick & Nora glass by filling it with ice and cold water. Set aside while you build the cocktail.

  2. 2

Add 1.5 oz vodka, 0.75 oz fresh lime juice, 0.5 oz fresh ginger syrup, 0.5 oz green Chartreuse, 0.25 oz Cointreau, and 2 dashes Angostura bitters into a cocktail shaker.

  3. 3

Fill the shaker with ice (about 1 cup). Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds, until the outside of the shaker is very cold and well-chilled.

  4. 4

Discard ice and water from the chilled serving glass. Strain the cocktail through a fine mesh strainer (or double strain through the shaker's strainer) into the chilled coupe or Nick & Nora. If you prefer a lighter finish, top gently with 1 oz club soda.

Garnish & Finish

  1. 5

Express a lime peel over the surface of the cocktail to release oils, then rub the rim lightly with the peel and drop a thin lime wheel or twist into the drink.

  2. 6

Skewer the crystallized or candied ginger and rest it across the rim or float it on the drink as a complementary bite.

  3. 7

    Serve immediately while cold.
