Ingredients for Beef Teriyaki Steak

Method

Directions for Beef Teriyaki Steak

  1. 1

    Prepare the Marinade

In a bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, grated ginger, minced garlic, and sesame oil. Stir until the sugar is dissolved.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Steak

Place the beef steak in a resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the steak, ensuring it’s well coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish, then refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or overnight for best flavor.

  3. 3

    Preheat the Grill or Pan

Preheat your grill or a skillet on medium-high heat. Lightly oil the grill or pan to prevent sticking.

  4. 4

    Cook the Steak

Remove the steak from the marinade and let excess marinade drip off. Season the steak with salt and pepper to taste. Place the steak on the grill or in the pan. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until your desired doneness is achieved.

  5. 5

    Prepare the Sauce

While the steak is cooking, pour the remaining marinade into a small saucepan. Bring it to a boil over medium heat and let it simmer for 5-7 minutes until it thickens slightly.

  6. 6

    Serve

Once the steak is cooked to your liking, remove it from the grill or pan and let it rest for 5 minutes. Slice the steak against the grain, drizzle with the thickened teriyaki sauce, and garnish with sliced green onions and toasted sesame seeds.
