Preparation

  1. 1

    Season the Steak

Generously season the bone-in rib eye steak on both sides with kosher salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and rosemary. Drizzle olive oil over the steak, ensuring it's evenly coated. Let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes to allow the flavors to penetrate.

Cooking

  1. 2

    Preheat the Grill or Pan

Preheat a grill or cast-iron skillet over high heat until it's very hot.

  2. 3

    Cook the Steak

Place the steak on the hot grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side without moving it, until a nice crust forms. Flip the steak and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes for medium-rare, adjusting time for desired doneness.

  3. 4

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steak from the heat and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute.
