Preparation of Espresso

    Brew the Espresso

    Prepare 1 shot of espresso using an espresso machine or stovetop espresso maker. Pour it into a large cup.

    Dissolve Cocoa and Sugar

    In a separate small bowl, mix 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder and 1 tablespoon of sugar. Add a splash of hot water (about 30 ml) to this mixture to create a smooth paste.

    Mix the Chocolate Mixture

    Add the cocoa and sugar paste to the brewed espresso and stir well until fully combined.

    Heat Milk

    In a small saucepan, heat 240 ml of milk over medium heat until steaming but not boiling. You can also froth the milk if you prefer a frothy mocha.

    Combine Espresso with Milk

    Slowly pour the hot milk into the espresso and cocoa mixture, stirring gently to combine.

Serving

    Top your mocha with 2 tablespoons of whipped cream and sprinkle with 1 tablespoon of chocolate shavings.
