Salad Base

Method

Salad Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Salad Base

Begin by washing the Romaine lettuce thoroughly under cold water and patting it dry with paper towels. Chop the lettuce into bite-sized pieces and place it in a large salad bowl.

  2. 2

    Slice the Avocado

Cut the avocado in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh out. Cut the avocado into slices and set aside.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Cherry Tomatoes

Wash the cherry tomatoes and slice them in half. Set aside.

  4. 4

    Chop the Scallions

Dice the scallions, using both the white and green parts, and set aside.

  5. 5

    Slice the Hard Boiled Eggs

Peel the hard boiled eggs and slice them into quarters or rounds, depending on your preference.

  6. 6

    Prepare the Grilled Chicken

If the grilled chicken breast is not cooked, grill it until fully cooked, then slice it into strips.

  7. 7

    Cook the Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the cherry-wood smoked bacon until crispy. Remove from the skillet and let it cool before chopping into bite-sized pieces.

  8. 8

    Assemble the Salad

In the large salad bowl, add the chopped Romaine lettuce, avocado slices, halved cherry tomatoes, diced scallions, sliced hard boiled eggs, grilled chicken strips, and chopped bacon. Sprinkle the crumbled blue cheese on top.

Buttermilk Dressing Preparation

  1. 9

    Make the Buttermilk Dressing

In a medium bowl, combine the buttermilk, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and fresh lemon juice. Whisk together until smooth and well combined.

  2. 10

    Serve

Drizzle the buttermilk dressing over the assembled salad or serve it on the side. Toss gently to combine if drizzled. Enjoy your Cobb salad!
