Spicy Honey Butter
Method
Chicken Marinade Preparation
- 1
Marinate the Chicken
In a large bowl, mix the buttermilk, hot sauce, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Add the chicken breasts to the marinade, ensuring they are fully submerged. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight for best results.
Biscuit Preparation
- 2
Prepare the Biscuit Dough
Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Cut in the unsalted butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in the buttermilk until just combined.
- 3
Shape the Biscuits
Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead gently 5-6 times. Pat or roll out to about 1-inch thickness. Cut out biscuits using a biscuit cutter or a glass. Place biscuits on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- 4
Bake the Biscuits
Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown. Remove from the oven and set aside.
Spicy Honey Butter Preparation
- 5
Make the Honey Butter
In a small bowl, combine the softened unsalted butter, honey, and hot sauce. Mix until well blended and creamy. Set aside until ready to serve.
Assembling the Dish
- 6
Fry the Marinated Chicken
In a frying pan over medium-high heat, add a little oil. Remove the chicken from the marinade, allowing excess to drip off. Fry the chicken for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
