Method
Biscuit Directions
- 1
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- 2
Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
- 3
Cut in Butter
Cut the cold unsalted butter into small cubes and add it to the flour mixture. Use a pastry cutter or your fingers to work the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- 4
Add Buttermilk
Make a well in the center of the flour mixture and pour in the buttermilk. Stir gently with a fork until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
- 5
Knead the Dough
Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface. Gently knead the dough 3 to 4 times until it comes together, then pat it into a rectangle about 1 inch thick.
- 6
Cut Biscuits
Using a biscuit cutter or a glass, cut out biscuits from the dough. Place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet, making sure they are touching for a flaky texture.
- 7
Bake
Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown.
Honey Butter Directions
- 8
Prepare Honey Butter
While the biscuits are baking, combine the unsalted butter and honey in a small bowl. Mix well until smooth and creamy.
