Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Bread

Cut the Butterhorn bread into cubes and place them in a large mixing bowl.

  2. 2

    Make the Custard Mixture

In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and salt until well combined.

  3. 3

    Combine Ingredients

Pour the custard mixture over the bread cubes and gently mix to ensure all bread is soaked. Let sit for 15 minutes to absorb.

  4. 4

    Add Mix-ins

Fold in the raisins or chocolate chips to the bread mixture.

  5. 5

    Prepare Baking Dish

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with butter.

  6. 6

    Bake

Pour the bread mixture into the prepared baking dish. Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes or until the top is golden and a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.

  7. 7

    Cool and Serve

Allow the bread pudding to cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy warm, optionally topped with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
