Method

Steak Preparation

  1. 1

    Season the Steak

Pat the ribeye steaks dry with paper towels. Season both sides generously with salt and black pepper.

  2. 2

    Heat the Pan

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.

  3. 3

    Cook the Steak

Add the ribeye steaks to the hot skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side until a nice crust forms.

  4. 4

    Add Aromatics

Flip the steaks and add the garlic cloves and rosemary sprigs to the skillet. Cook for an additional 4-5 minutes for medium-rare, basting the steaks with the oil and juices in the pan.

  5. 5

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest on a cutting board for at least 5 minutes before slicing.

Mashed Potatoes Preparation

  1. 6

    Boil the Potatoes

Peel and chop the potatoes into equal-sized chunks. Place them in a large pot, cover with cold water, and add a pinch of salt. Bring to a boil over high heat.

  2. 7

    Cook Until Tender

Reduce heat to medium and let the potatoes simmer for about 15-20 minutes or until fork-tender.

  3. 8

    Drain and Mash

Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Add the butter, milk, salt, and black pepper. Mash until smooth and creamy.

  4. 9

    Serve

Serve the mashed potatoes alongside the ribeye steak for a delicious meal.
