Salad Preparation
Prepare the Romaine Lettuce
Wash the romaine lettuce thoroughly under cold water. Spin dry in a salad spinner or pat dry with paper towels. Tear the lettuce into bite-sized pieces and place them in a large salad bowl.
Add Caesar Dressing
Pour the Caesar dressing over the torn romaine lettuce, ensuring that all the pieces are evenly coated. Toss gently to combine.
Add Parmesan Cheese
Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the dressed lettuce and toss gently again to distribute the cheese throughout the salad.
Crouton Preparation
Prepare the Croutons
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Cut the French bread into small cubes, about 1-inch in size.
Season the Croutons
In a large mixing bowl, combine the bread cubes with olive oil, garlic powder, and salt. Toss until the bread is evenly coated.
Bake the Croutons
Spread the bread cubes in a single layer on a baking sheet. Bake for 10-15 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy, stirring halfway through to ensure even toasting. Remove from the oven and let cool.
Assembly
Combine Salad and Croutons
Once the croutons are cool, add them to the salad bowl with the romaine and dressing. Toss gently to combine.
Serve the Salad
Transfer the Caesar salad to serving plates or bowls. Garnish with freshly cracked black pepper and serve with lemon wedges on the side.
