Pork Belly

Method

Preparing Pork Belly

  1. 1

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).

  2. 2

    Season the Pork

Pat the pork belly dry with paper towels. Rub the salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and olive oil all over the pork belly, ensuring it's evenly coated.

  3. 3

    Add Rosemary

Sprinkle the fresh rosemary over the seasoned pork belly.

  4. 4

    Roast the Pork

Place the pork belly on a roasting rack in a baking dish, skin side up. Roast in the preheated oven for about 2 to 2.5 hours, or until the meat is tender and the skin is crispy.

Making Tangy Sauce

  1. 5

    Combine Sauce Ingredients

In a small saucepan, combine the soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, minced garlic, minced ginger, sesame oil, and chili flakes.

  2. 6

    Simmer the Sauce

Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Let it cook for about 5-7 minutes until slightly thickened.

  3. 7

    Cool Sauce

Remove the saucepan from heat and allow the sauce to cool slightly before serving.

Serving

  1. 8

    Slice and Serve

Once the pork belly is done, let it rest for 10 minutes. Slice it into pieces and serve with the tangy sauce drizzled on top.
