Mojito Ingredients

Method

Mojito Preparation Steps

  1. 1

    Muddle the Mint and Sugar

In a sturdy glass or cocktail shaker, place the fresh mint leaves and granulated sugar. Using a muddler or the back of a spoon, gently press down on the mint leaves to release their essential oils, mixing them with the sugar. Be careful not to shred the leaves too much.

  2. 2

    Add Lime Juice

Cut the lime in half and squeeze the juice from both halves into the glass with the mint and sugar mixture. If you prefer, you can also add the lime halves to the glass for added flavor.

  3. 3

    Add Rum

Pour in the white rum over the muddled mint, sugar, and lime juice mixture. Stir gently to combine all the ingredients.

  4. 4

    Add Ice

Fill the glass with ice cubes to your desired level, allowing the ice to chill the mixture.

  5. 5

    Top with Club Soda

Slowly pour the club soda over the ice and mixture, filling the glass to the top. This will give the cocktail a refreshing fizz.

  6. 6

    Garnish and Serve

Garnish your mojito with a couple of fresh mint sprigs and a lime wedge on the rim of the glass. Serve immediately with a straw or a stirrer for mixing.
