Method

Preparation

1

Preheat the oven

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and prepare four ramekins by greasing them with butter and dusting with cocoa powder.

Making the Cake Batter

2

Melt Chocolate and Butter

In a medium saucepan, combine the unsweetened chocolate and unsalted butter. Heat over low heat, stirring frequently until melted and smooth. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

3

Mix Dry Ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar and flour until well combined.

4

Combine Ingredients

Add the cooled chocolate mixture to the dry ingredients. Stir in the large eggs and egg yolks, mixing until fully incorporated. Finally, add the vanilla extract and mix until smooth.

Baking

5

Fill Ramekins

Divide the batter evenly among the prepared ramekins, filling each about 3/4 full.

6

Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for 12-14 minutes, or until the edges are firm but the center remains soft and slightly jiggly.

7

Cool and Serve

Once baked, remove from the oven and let them cool for 1 minute. Carefully invert each ramekin onto a plate and serve immediately with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and a dusting of powdered sugar. Optionally, add fresh berries for garnish.
