Cake Preparation
- 1
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- 2
Melt Chocolate and Butter
In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine the unsweetened chocolate and unsalted butter. Stir until completely melted and smooth. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
- 3
Mix Sugar and Eggs
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, large eggs, and large egg yolks until well combined and slightly frothy.
- 4
Combine Mixtures
Slowly pour the melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture while whisking continuously to avoid cooking the eggs.
- 5
Add Vanilla, Flour, and Salt
Stir in the vanilla extract, all-purpose flour, and a pinch of salt until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- 6
- 7
Fill Ramekins
Divide the batter evenly among the prepared ramekins, filling each about 3/4 full.
- 8
Bake
Place the ramekins on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 12-14 minutes, until the edges are firm but the center is soft.
- 9
Cool Slightly
Remove from the oven and let them cool for 1 minute. Run a knife around the edges to loosen, then invert onto plates.
